‘Lockttlf’ removable thread locker is almost exactly like the red removable version of Loctite. Put a small dab on every screw or bolt on your e-bike or scooter and it won’t rattle loose. This removable thread locker is a bit more goopy than the name brand stuff.
Loctite is more like water and will drip if you use even a little bit too much. That stuff comes out too fast and dries before you can put the lid back on. Lockttlf, on the other hand, is a bit more like gel. It’ll stay on the threads of your screw until you want to screw them in. Better yet, it won’t drip and make an oily mess.
Nuts and bolts rattle loose on pretty much every PEV, so it’s recommended to use Lockttlf removable thread locker as religiously as you can. LOCKTTLF 242 thread locker is a great substitute for the name brand stuff, but this will only cost you half as much. The jelly quality makes it much easier to apply and it lasts just as long. Whenever I get a new PEV, I’ll always spend the first night doing things like pumping up the tires, adjusting brakes, and charging it up. When you take the extra 15 minutes to apply some removable thread locker like Lockttlf to your screws then you can be sure that your maiden voyage is a success. No more lost fenders, loose rattling bits, or slimy residue.
It’s a given, all of us PEV people have a screw loose in our heads somewhere. Best practice is to prevent that from happening on your e-bike or scooter.
