Quad Piston Brakes For Electric Scooters In Stock and Shipping NOW!
Looking for a powerful electric scooter brake upgrade that doesn’t cost $500? These quad piston hydraulic brakes for electric scooters deliver top-tier stopping power, cooling, and reliability—without the Magura price tag. We have a quality 4 piston brake manufacturer that has started branching into our niche. They also make the brakes for the Fidico Lightspeed Knight Scooter; DYIsland! The company has done a great job, mixing parts of 3 different preexisting kits together in a mix to create the ones we needed.
Why upgrade to quad piston hydraulic brakes?
✔️ Increased stopping power with 4-piston calipers
✔️ XL brake lines for big scooters (Inmotion RS, Kaabo Wolf)
✔️ Plug-and-play 2-pin brake light connector
✔️ Includes titanium rotor screws, thicker rotors + multiple brake pad sets
Before now, you’d either have an extra bracket on your caliper, you’d lose the 2 pin connector for your brake lights, or even worse, they make you get messy with the project of cutting and bleeding your own brake lines. After weeks of back and forth with them, I finally got them to mix a few of their kits together now we’ve got it all. A perfect plug and play quad piston brake kit for electric scooters!
Similar kits online usually only come with the levers, lines, and calipers. Even still, in many of those other kits you’ll end up with brake lines that are too short for bigger scooters like the Inmotion RS, or Kaabo Wolf series’ of scooters. Plus the wait time to get them can be weeks! The PEV Outlet kit comes with everything you need, plus rotors, titanium screws, your choice of brake pads, and extra premium customer service. Shipped right to your door from Seattle, quickly (customer service rep not included).
NOTE! These quad piston brakes for electric scooters come with a 2 pin connector for the brake light hookup. To maintain functionality of the brake lights, make sure your scooter also uses a 2 pin julet type connector. The kits will also ONLY fit scooters on with both rotors on the right hand side of the motors, OR one rotor on the front left, and one on the back right. If both of your rotors are on the left side of the motors, then these kits are not compatible!
Quad piston brakes are the only way…
You’ll have increased stopping power, extra cooling, and easier lever modulation. Plus, the thicker rotors are much harder to warp under high temps, no more random brake scraping noises! I don’t know about you, but I can smoke a pair of stock Zoom pads in a few days, especially if I’m running them hard with high speed stops. On the quad piston brakes you’ll have 4 pistons pushing on the 20% larger pads instead of two. This means the brake pads wear more evenly, and increase the lifespan of your pads. . You can read more about the drastic differences between 2 and 4 piston brakes HERE.
Brake pads with heat sinks.
Included with your quad piston brakes for electric scooters is 1 set of organic compound brake pads with built in cooling fins (we are also including an extra couple sets of fully metallic brake pads). The upgraded pads have built in fins toward the top that act as heat sinks to keep the pads cooler while you ride. It’s also important to keep in mind that the more dense brake materials (included metallic pads) take longer to heat up, and are less effective at stopping unless they are warmed up. More dense brake materials are also more prone to squeaking if they get layered with dirt, oil, or debris.
We also do have upgraded ceramic brake pads. These are an upgraded pad that gives you the quick stopping power of the stock pads, with the longer life of the metallic pads. We do have stock replacement pads as well in two varieties, one with, and one without, the cooling fins.
Why Titanium Screws?
Titanium screws are a great upgrade on quad piston brakes for electric scooters. These screws cost us almost $1 each, and are significantly stronger than the standard aluminum screws we offer for most scooters. With the added grip of 4 pistons against the pads, if you squeeze quickly enough on a heavy electric scooter at full speed, aluminum screws can sheer right off of the rotor. That will leave you completely without brakes!
Also, consider the M5x15 Titanium screws we sell for mounting the caliper to the mounting bracket, and the M5x20 screws we sell for attaching your mounting bracket to the scooter frame. This probably isn’t necessary, but they sure do look great, and offer peace of mind. When using these screws on rotors and mounts, you always want to be sure to put a dab of removable thread locker on each screw. Screws have a habit of rattling out of most every electric scooter ever made. If you don’t have any, we sell some for cheap RIGHT HERE.
Isn’t replacing brakes hard?
It sounds more complicated than it is, you’re essentially just removing old outdated stuff and putting new brakes right where the old ones were. Instructions will also be included with your order as well as a short instructional video. Expect about an hour, maybe two, of wrenching on your scooter to get it done carefully and correctly your first time. Of course if you have any questions at all during your install you can always reach out to PEV Outlet using the Contact Us page.
Less maintenance.
The $30 zoom brakes that come on many bigger scooters have oil issues. They’ve got a habit of leaking, or loosing oil, getting air in the lines, and developing squishy levers. Plus, the lever doesn’t modulate as easy as it should. Fast scooters require precision control of your hands, which is exactly what these DYIsland brakes offer. Plus, there will be less maintenance involved keeping them in tip top shape.
As with any set of brakes though, you’ll eventually need to service them. This is why we’ve included the option to get a bleed kit and bottle of oil on your brake order for just $13 extra ($21 value if bought here separately).
